January has been a fun month. We have had lots of doctors appointments (mine: I'm cleared! Lulu's: 12 month...although she is 14 months old, Belle's: 2 month) and lots of traveling (for Shay).
Lulu: Your doctors appointment was great. We love our pediatrician (Thanks CD!) and you are just perfect. Okay, those are my words not the doctor. You are in the 25% on height and weight and have a belly that is so awesome! We know when you are full by how far out your belly button is. It makes Shay laugh every time! We are so thankful for good reports each time. I hope we don't take that for granted that you and Baby Belle are both growing healthy each day.
You are gaining more and more of your spirit each day. I love it! Here are your highlights:
* You point to your nose, ears, teeth (as of today), and belly. The belly one (see picture below) is the cutest because you lift your shirt and stare down at your belly. You are so smart and I am amazed at how much you take in and are learning so much right now.
* You are not quite a walker yet. I learned today I need to call you a cruiser (Thanks LT!). You will take steps between 2 pieces of furniture. It's only 2-3 steps but it is so amazing to see you do it. I think you know how to walk but just don't see any need right now. I must admit I don't mind because I know your speed will increase once you start walking.
* You are just a babbling. You aren't quite making words...bath is ba and I'm not sure that really counts. You say "da-da" and say "ma-ma" when you are crying and want me.
* You know how to sing. I know, American Idol, watch out. When we say to you..."Lulu, can you sing?" You begin to say (sing)..."ah-ahhhh..." This is said in singing tone and different tonage (not sure of the word I'm looking for. I wish I could record it. I'll do that...soon.)
* Clapping...got it.
* You love food. You are eating basically everything we do now. You love this fruit salad I make and you know the order your food comes...veggie, chicken/meat or main course, and then fruit or yogurt.
* You still have a mullet. I'm sorry.
* You love to high five while eating.
* You give kisses (we have decided this is only for mommy and daddy as Shay and I think it's odd when kids kiss on the lips other people...just odd). You simply open that mouth, tongue out and lunge for our face. We love it! Other times when we ask for a kiss you just bring your forehead to our lips...again, priceless!
* You gave Belle a kiss on her head. My. Heart. Melted.
* You are starting to warm up to Belle. You get her pacifier and in an attempt to help you jab her eye to give it to her. You pat Belle's back with mommy to help burp her. You always get your face really close to Belle's like you are checking on her. If mom/dad is rocking Belle wrapped in a blanket you always pull at the blanket till you see Belle. Precious!
* You hand us your ducks after your bath. I know this doesn't sound important or cute. But oh my it is precious! When we say all done with her bath she lifts the ducks to us. So cute! Daddy says you have said "duck." I'm skeptical...haha!
* You are still napping from 8 am - 10 am. Sometimes you sleep for the whole time or just a bit of the time. Otherwise you are so fun to listen to. You talk, sing or just lay quietly in there. Your afternoon nap is long. You nap from 1 pm - 4 pm and again sometimes you talk/sing a bit to put yourself to sleep and then you are out.
* You love books. We read before each nap and bedtime. You love it. (fav author right now is Sandra Boyton. Her books are cute, rhyme-ey, and quirky.)
* Your laugh makes any day better.
* You are a great cuddler. You have just recently let me scratch your back and your are a limp noodle when I do it. You cuddle into my neck and wrap your arms and legs around me and I melt as you relax into my arms.
We can't believe you are 14 months! When and how did that happen! You are just so priceless to us and we love having you as our firstborn. You are loved precious girl and we pray also for you that you would know Jesus' love through us.
Shay has been in Memphis and Mississippi for Kamp and got to see Shantell while he was in Memphis. We also had Blake (Shay's youngest brother) and Chloe (his now wife) wedding this month. Shay got ordained last semester and so he was the pastor for the wedding. I was so very proud of him. He did an INCREDIBLE job. I must admit the whole wedding I was just falling more and more in love with that man! I thought of our wedding day and we both talked about how being in there for a wedding always reminds us of our day...I love being married to him! The wedding was a blast and I loved seeing Shantell (Shay's sister) and some family from Illinois that came down! Traveling for Kamp is almost done and we are ready to have Daddy home! We still feel so blessed and humbled by our "jobs." We have the best bosses, friends and community through kamp.
We will not be having a #3 anytime too soon...well, unless the Lord truly has a different plan. I think a much needed break from being preggo is on the horizon and I am thankful. Although...I do love being preggo and being in the zone of newborns sometimes makes me just want to stay in it and just keep having them. BUT the break is overriding those thoughts.
All in all...we are just full. Full of love and full of lots of laughter. We know that Jesus is the only reason for anything good in our lives and for that we continue to stand in His grace, forgiveness, and love.
Lulu waiting for her appointment...
While waiting, she was reading up on the medical journal...
She also was putting on quite the fashion show...
Lulu just checking on Belle. When she kisses her, she really just leans in and then when she is about 2 inches from Belle she pulls away. Her version of a "kiss."

She loves her kitchen. I love how she is sitting in this pic...
This is after being asked "where is your belly?"
Best friends...
Love that little puckered face...
We think this little one is quite the look-a-like to her big sister...
I love this because they both have their tongues out...it's like they talked about it.
Joyful January,
The Robbins' Nest
