July...

Oh, my brain is starting to hurt trying to remember summer memories...girls, I am so very sorry that I did not at least write down summer memories better than this. I can do this...

July...come back to me. We had a very HOT summer. I mean like 100's each day. I did not let that make you two stay cooped up all day. We would hit the "baby pool" at K2 and you two didn't seem to mind the heat. Your cheeks turned very red (especially yours Bizzle) but for the most part you loved it.

Belle, I keep forgetting that you have started food. You started at 6 months and at first it was comical. You now have it down. You finally figured out your tongue and how to keep the food in your mouth. You really haven't shown any dislikes and have eaten everything I am giving you. You still aren't putting on much weight so after talking on the phone to the pediatrician office I am going to start adding some formula in. So you are getting a bottle at 11 am and also at 5 pm. Then you are getting a bottle after nursing before bed. I can already tell a difference in your mood around food time. You don't scarf everything I put near you and just seem more calm during meals. I think you were so frantic of an eater because your little belly was hungry...so sorry my sweet second! Prayerfully your weight will gain and even back out on your growing curve. You are sitting strongly and really pulling up on your arms when you are on tummy time. I think you will crawl faster than Lulu since you are ready to be running around with her.

Lulu, you have loved exploring kamp. You are understanding so much. It baffles me. This summer you picked up on of Belle's diapers and I said, "Lulu, can you put that in the trash." You walked it right over to the trash and dropped it in. It was amazing. It reminded me so quickly that you are soaking up so much each day. You are still stretching with us each day in triathlete and you sit on mommy during ab domination which only adds to my workout. Thank you. You are learning boundaries and you seem to be quick to listen and show an understanding of what is good to do and what is not okay with mommy and daddy to do. I pray you learn obedience but not oppressive obedience. Obedience out of the gentle and sweet spirit that is in you. Obedience because you know that is the good and kind choice. That is our prayer. You have started to really hug Belle and really be aware of her. It's precious. I know you were made at the core of who you are to help love your younger siblings...as many as the Lord has for us.

Triathlete is great and keeps Shay and I in great shape. Shay still trains each Sunday for the Branson Half Ironman 2011. He amazes me. His speaking this summer has blown EVERYONE away and his message of prayer has revolutionized this kamp. It is truly the first summer where I feel and know that the men staff is running this kamp and leading the ministry. It has been so inspiring and has reminded me how GREAT and intimate you are with us, your children.

I have loved kamp but we as parents have continued to pray that our family comes first. You two should always know that even from the beginning of your lives you were always first. Before kamp...always! We are with you 80% of the time you are awake since you come to Triathlete with us and that will continue to be true as you are still little...we'll take it as long as we can! I know there will come a day when you want to go swim, slide, etc with your babysitter...but until that day, I'll soak you two in! Kamp is an amazing place to grow up. I keep hearing sages in my life (Beth Wiebe, Diane Cooper, etc) saying that it is so special to raise kids at camp. I haven't gotten to the details of why but I trust these women greatly...and their kids are pretty good examples when it's done right. Oh Lord please grant us favor and wisdom is raising our family in the midst of camp.

July has flown by and I know summer will be over soon. We are treasuring the memories and the fact that we have a billion dollar home in the summer.

it's hot out here,
