Summer...We love summer around our house, even if working for kamp makes it a bit hectic. We love K2 and we love the ministry we get to be a part of. The girls are really starting to "get" kamp and know the people we work for. Here are memories from summer...
* Mrs. Debbie Jo taught the girls blowing kisses and then rubbing them in. It now is a part of our night time ritual and Lulu always reminds you to rub them in. Whenever we see DJ now Lulu blows her kisses. I love that the Lord has placed us under Joe and DJ...they are amazing and so thankful to rub elbows with them each day. This summer, especially, DJ was such an outlet of simply asking how I was and I felt so free in sharing life. It was somewhat of a lonely summer for me, mommy, but DJ was a blessing!!
* We bought daddy a four wheeler. He loves it and was so shocked he couldn't say anything. It was the best surprise ever! The girls love riding it with him and it makes kamp so much easier for Shay to get around.
* Big Cedar continues to be a highlight of summer. We get 3 days to be a family with no pressure. It's such a needed break. The girls love playing at the white pool and blue pool (they named certain pools). Lulu got so much more brave with water and Belle just jumped right on in. Belle will go under the water with our help and is very proud when she pops back up. Lulu will but it's not by choice...we are slowly working with her.
* Belle wiped out on the back road to K2. She was going after some balloons and just busted it on pea gravel (see pic below). She was such a champ. Cried a bit and then was perfectly fine. She had a great little face for a while.
* You two littles love the slip-n-slide. Not necessarily going down the slip-n-slide but playing in the bottom which makes for a perfect baby pool. You love to watch the big kids come down it and love watching the zipline above us. Lulu learned how to countdown...3, 2, 1, geronimo (spelling, sorry?)
* Emily Ellett and Hayden Stark were your kid sitters for this summer. We love both of them and felt so blessed. Emily was actually our first ever kid sitter and Hayden started working for us after her junior year so she will be with us for a while. Thank you Lord for those 2 girls!
* Each day we would try to go see the animals at K-West and K7. There were bunnies and pigs and goats and more. The girls loved them. Lulu was very concerned about the baby pigs and momma pig...it was quite the meltdown when momma pig was gone. We got to see a day old bunny rabbit so thankful the other kamps let us stop in.
All in all summer is so special. The girls get to play, play and play some more. They get to have adventures and explore. Our prayer is that they will love kamp and that family will always be placed before the chaos of kamp. Daddy does an amazing job of keeping priorities straight with date nights, hours off and always putting our kiddos to bed. We love that our kids are getting to grow up with this ministry surrounding them.
Which side of the table is Lulu's and which side is Belle's after a meal? Hmm... |
