Ironman #3....I think. It's funny that each year is sort of blurry. Shay always is training hard core in the fall right after kamp and I am always pregnant...hmmm...
It was a beautiful and perfect in every way race day. The weather was cool in the morning but not freezing for the swim and the bike and run had very little wind and just the right temperatures. It is always such a fun thing to be a part of. Such energy and accomplishment to watch the athletes not just compete but just do it. I always cry watching folks at the finish line!
Shay had his personal best time. He was aiming for under 5 hours and he did it! He didn't cramp up too bad and was just awesome!!! It is always a bit of a stressful season while he is training such long hours but I just love love love race day! I love that he is a part of it and I am so very proud of him!
Unlike last years rain storm which we had the girls at the whole time I had my 2 sweet friends (Tanya aka Tonga and Jane aka Nay-nay) bring the girls just to the finish so they could be there to see Daddy. That was a much better idea! I'm not sure they understood what all daddy had done but they were sweet to have there!
we're athletic in this nest,
the robbins' nest
