The Day LULU Arrived:
(I think I blogged this in November 2009...but just in case I'll sum it up)
Trip to the Hospital: Mom woke that morning in a bit of a panic b/c of some bleeding. We quickly just jumped in the car and went to the hospital, without our bags and without an installed car seat. Oops! The whole way up to the hospital I knew something had happened and was so scared I had lost you. I now know that was very normal placenta changing and you didn't move much in the morning. All was well. Dr. McCall checked me and said "you wanna have a baby today?" YES! She popped my water and you progressed a centimeter each hour. She called you a textbook labor. You came "au natural" and that is a memory that dad and I will keep dear to our hearts (and only our hearts). You came out with a bit of a scare as Dr. McCall noticed your cord had knotted 2 times and was wrapped around your neck. Dr. McCall was fast and precise and you were 100% okay. You arrived at 8:27 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. Your hair was dark and full. You were born at Cox in Springfield, Missouri. Mommy's doctor was Dr. Kristy McCall and your doctor was Dr. Hanks. We switched at 4 months to Dr. Jennifer Butler in Nixa, MO.

The Day BELLE Arrived:
(I think I blogged this in November 2010...but just in case I'll sum it up)
Trip to the Hospital: You was much less panic involved with your labor and delivery. I started feeling contractions the night of November 14, 2009. They started around 8:00 pm and at 11:00 pm we decided we better go. Angela Jennings and Katie Hurst (our sweet neighbors and friends) came down to stay with Lulu. Shay's mom and dad came and stayed the next day and then my parents were here for 3 days with Lulu. Lulu was well taken care of. We got to the hospital and my water had broken while at home showering (which I wasn't 100% sure it had) and you were on your way. Since I was laboring through the night hours and my body was programmed to be sleeping I decided to do the epidural. Something about night time labor was so different. It was a very different experience than with Lulu. It was calm and relaxing and you came with a few pushes. Dr. Staci Niemoth delivered you and she was awesome. I love the office of doctors we are in and love Dr. McCall but Dr. Niemoth was so very sweet. Your doctor is Dr. Butler but someone else from that office checked you out. You had to stay for the full 2 days b/c I progressed so fast they couldn't get the 2 bags of medicine in me b/c I had tested positive for something that could have harmed you but nothing major. By God's hand you didn't get the sickness (I sound so vague only b/c I forget the details) and you were perfect in every way. You arrived at 4:36 am on Monday, November 15, 2010. You were born on the same day (or like hours apart) with Matt and Melissa Houston's baby #5: Bennett.
