Oh, you continue to amaze us! Right now as your mom is typing she is running a little low from a "hard" night. Now your hard nights, according to some mom-friends, are nothing like they could be so your mom is very thankful. But last night was our first...everything in your world was good: fed, burped, changed, loved, rocked, no gas, all was well and yet your little spirit was just not happy. So mom and dad put you down in your crib (you recently moved to your room and doing great) and allowed you to cry. Dad went on to bed and mom was just to anxious. So HGTV was turned on and I tried to distract my mind and heart. I prayed and prayed, "Lord, please rock her to sleep in your arms and calm her heart. Please don't let her feel abandoned or insecure." All the crazy first time mom thoughts. Lulu, we pray you always know we will take care of you and now that you are past 8 weeks and even are 12 weeks old now, we get to begin to raise you. You are officially no longer called a newborn...so sad for mom! So back to last night...so you cried and cried. You would take a rest and then realize you weren't in my arms or you pacifier fell out and start up again. It wasn't a loud scream just a wavering cry. So mom kept forcing her eyes open as I sat in the living room clutching the monitor. Finally at 2:00 am...calmness fell over your body and you rested. (Side Note: she did not cry straight...i would check on her every 30 minutes...1 good thing is that you had a dirty diaper which you needed to have one of those! Good job girl!) So my sweet Lulu-bug-a-boo this morning you still greeted mom and dad with grins and coos and we were grateful. You have been great today with great 2 hour naps...wonder why?
O sweet Lord, please rest our daughter's heart and body tonight as we continue to desire nothing more than to raise her as you would have us do. Direct our actions so that she always knows she is loved and secure in YOU and her parents. Thank you for giving us our precious one!
Still in my pjs,
The Robbins' Nest
Shay each morning does morning workouts with her...squats! Hysterical! (Lovin' Shay's hair!)
Down and up...
She is wrapped in our Razorback Snuggie...look at that face!
Nana and Poppa D came to visit last weekend. It is an official requirement they come once a month.
Lulu has the best grandmas in the whole world! Grammy (Shay's mom) and Nana both helped 2 weeks ago when I had to be at work from 8-5 every day to hire all our staff for 2010. Thanks Grammy and Nana!!! (Grammy: we gotta take pictures with you and Poppa. We forget because you two live here! I'll get better about that!)
