Lulu is here...

Goodness, gracious oh how quickly life changes when a precious, absolutely perfect little newborn arrives! I am so very sorry it has taken me so long. We are adjusting to life with our newest addition and continuing to settle into our new home! We are beyond blessed and each night Shay and I are in awe of the Lord's hand in our lives.

Well, most want to know about the labor/birth story. Lucy Reese Robbins, we are calling her Lulu, arrived on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 8:27 pm. I had 8 hours of active labor and did it all natural. Please don't leave comments that I'm crazy. I just think I wanted to say I had done it all natural...which now that I have I will not be hesitating to go for the drugs with the next one. It is a crazy story of again the Lord's hand but summation: we went to the hospital that morning out of a panic that something was wrong, found out she was fine, started walking, kept dialating, and they broke my water and then it was all textbook (that's what the dr. called me) as far as dialating 1 cm each hour. Our parents (and granny and pa) were right outside but it was just Shay and I in the delivery room. Details from 7 cm to 10 cm are a little fuzzy for me as I think I was just screaming :) but when she came it was all so very worth it. What a miracle. Shay and I both were in awe of the Lord knitting this little one together and choosing us to do our best to raise her!

Below are LOTS of pictures...enjoy!
Shay, Ashley, & Lulu
Me at, I think, 39 weeks...maybe just a day or two before she came.
Me at the check in when I was still thinking, "I just need to know she is okay, then I want to go back home. I'm not having her today. Thanks."
Shay goofing off...he really would love to deliver one of our babies...so funny! At this point I was having contractions and just didn't know it.
She's here! Praise the Lord. This was her right after she came and she was being poked and prodded and grabbed onto my finger. She became quite the photographer.
Again, she grabbed her mom's hand. I love this pic so much!
Our AMAZING doctor! I am not kidding, she is so in tune with the Lord that she kept us this day to have Lulu. Lulu's cord was actually around her neck 2 times and had a knot in it. The Lord protected her and we are thankful!
Nanna and Lulu! My mom and dad made it in plenty of time and between my mom and Shay's mom they were being pretty sassy as they had to wait a while before getting to see her.
Grammy and Lulu! I love that Susan chose Grammy! Let's just say that Grammy and Nanna were passing notes under the door to us...the doctors wouldn't let them in for quite some time while I was getting taken care of. It was hysterical! I saved a note that said "Let us in."
Poppa D and Lulu! Dad said it was so hard to hear what he heard as I gave birth to Lulu as a dad. Sorry dad! :)
Poppa and Lulu...not sure how to spell what Rob is being called. I'll have to look into that.
Granny & Pa were there. Granny was like a prophet saying that she wanted me to have her over Thanksgiving. She got her wish. I love this pic b/c they are imitating each other!
Leaving our labor/delivery room to head to our private room for recovery.
Lulu was in room with us for the 2 days in the hospital. We didn't sleep much (not due to Lulu) but just were ready to be at our home.
Aunt Shanny and Lulu. Lulu loves all her uncles and aunts!
Uncle Michael and Lulu. I was so excited that my brother took off work and made the trip to come see her! She loves you Michael and already misses you!
Dear friends! Trish, Lee and Jennifer came by to see Lulu. I love our community of friends! We are so blessed!
This was her going home day! She got a precious outfit from our sweet friends, the Silers, and she loved it! Lulu is just awesome! We love her so much!

Oh Ashley! I loved reading this and then lost it when I read about her cord. What an honor it is when we see God's hand at work in our children and for them. She is precious and blessed to be your daughter.

*Jimmy just called from
