Life after K2...so sweet!

Well, we are back! K2 ended on August 12 and it was truly a great summer! Shay and I got to be a part of a lot of life change in teenagers' hearts. After kamp we headed to move back to our little "loveshack" and then headed to see my folks. Then we went to help Shantell, Shay's sister, move from Lee University to Memphis, TN where she will be completing a 9 month Bible/Discipleship/Innercity Ministry program. It was so fun to meet Shanny's friends and see her world.

Then we came back to Branson and got to go to the most beautiful lake house in Shell Knob, MO. It was breathtaking! It was so isolated and a perfect get-away. A dear kamp family, who I have known for years, graciously opened up their home to us. It was quiet and we read, slept, read, watched movies, read, and then slept some more. We got pretty obsessed with the book, The Shack, it's kind of "the" book right now to read. So we jumped on the bandwagon (I must confess we are 1/2 way through and haven't had time to pick it back up again). After that we came back and we both got back to the Kanakuk Director's offices! We have offices just down the hall from each other and we both feel so blessed and so thankful each day! We will be traveling soon all across the nation to interview for staff and reconnect with K2 kampers. It's a ton of fun! Our fall is quickly getting busy but not "running on empty" busy.

We miss family and friends so much and after kamp we both called all of our bridesmaids and groomsmen so that they wouldn't think we literally fell off the face of the earth. We're back friends! We can't wait to see the Robbins/Biddle gang in October for Shay's cousin's wedding and then all the family will be coming here for Thanksgiving because Nick Robbins is GETTING MARRIED! Please stay in touch and again our contact emails are:

Rachel Sparks with her new baby, Braden. So precious!

Aly Crandall got married this summer to Rob Lehman! It was a beautiful wedding on the Outer Banks beach! This is JoNeel and John David's (Vickery's) little baby girl, Ellie. She was so much fun on the beach! It was a nice little get-away from Kamp for a celebration with friends!

Aly's wedding...she was beautiful! This is the K2 crew. JoNeel, Aly, me, and Tiffany Hassler! Old K2 Connections!

This is Shay with Hunter Lee, K2 Programs guy. This was for the American Madness party! Shay was quite the patriot!

This was a little prank done by some K2 staff friends. It was up on a banner for the Catch the Wave party we had. How do ya'll like the mustache?

This was Shay's annual Birthday bash at Big Cedar! My mom and dad got to come and all our friends and family from Branson made the trip to Big Cedar.

This was Shay & I at the 50's at the Hop party. Shay was a janitor...don't ask me why?

Up close with my good-lookin' mullet wearin' hubby!

Shay & I at the Big City, Small Town Hoedown. I was a southern belle and Shay was....well, I'm not real sure?

This was the GREAT K2 Leadership Team from Pentathlon Day. We do like 6 different activities (swimming, running, canoeing, archery, etc) with all of K2 kampers & staff. Look how hard core we look! The guys' leadership team would do the Pentathlon too and always won! They were really good...with Shay being a stellar swimmer!

There is our summer in summary. I'll be better at blogging...well, I'm gonna really try!
